Fingerprints may be requested in connection with certain Canadian criminal record check requirements. The exact requirement depends on the purpose of the check and the instructions provided by the requesting authority or organization.

North American Fingerprinting Center provides accredited fingerprinting services for eligible RCMP criminal record check requests. Clients should bring valid identification and any letter, form or instructions associated with their request.

The RCMP or other responsible authority controls the processing and issuance of the official result.

North American Fingerprinting Center provides fingerprinting services but does not control government processing times or decisions.

FBI Fingerprinting for U.S. Requirements

Individuals may be asked to provide fingerprints for U.S. employment, licensing, immigration, personal records or other administrative purposes.

North American Fingerprinting Center can assist with fingerprint capture for FBI and other U.S.-related requirements. The specific format required should be confirmed from the organization requesting the fingerprints.

The FBI or other applicable U.S. authority performs the actual record search or assessment. A private fingerprinting agency does not issue the FBI result.

Clients should bring any instructions provided by the requesting U.S. agency or organization.

International Fingerprinting Requests

Fingerprint requirements can vary significantly between countries, government authorities and requesting organizations.

North American Fingerprinting Center assists clients with fingerprint capture for a range of international requirements. Where a particular form, fingerprint card or instruction has been issued, clients should bring it to the appointment.

Acceptance of fingerprints and final processing are determined by the receiving authority in the destination country.

International requirements should be confirmed with the authority or organization requesting the fingerprints.

Apostille and Canadian Document Services

Canadian documents intended for use outside Canada may be subject to apostille or other document requirements depending on the destination country and the type of document.

North American Fingerprinting Center provides selected assistance with apostille, authentication and related document coordination services.

Government authorities remain responsible for determining whether a document qualifies for apostille or authentication and for issuing the official certification.

Document requirements may vary by destination and document type. Government and courier processing times remain outside the control of NAF Center.
